I'm Jake, a front-end developer writing html, css, and javascript. I use tailwind, vue & nuxt to work faster.

Originally from Wales, and now resident in France I have both academic qualification and technical experience.

For over 12 years I've built for the web. In projects ranging from simple responsive emails, shopping carts and wordpress blogs, event registration portals and virtual event experiences. I've worked on vanilla code as well as with Bootstrap, AngularJS, ReactJS, Jquery, AlpineJS and Vue.

I now work primarily with the JAMstack and my current flavour of choice is Vue (especially with Nuxt) and Tailwind CSS.

I write expert and spec compliant HTML.

Which means I am highly opinionated when it comes to which elements to use. HTML5, or just HTML includes many elements that have semantic meaning to both the web browser and assistive technologies used by them. (this is also known as the stop using `divs` everywhere rule. I abide by this!).

I craft modern CSS.

My sites are crafted using the best and most modern CSS methods currently available. Right now that means Utility CSS framework Tailwind CSS, combined with SCSS and custom properties.

I build: Fast. Mobile. Accessible.

I build fast, mobile first and accessible first sites, cutting the least number of corners and making my sites as usable and user-friendly as possible. Currently this means Vue and Nuxt, and TailwindCSS for speed and DX.

From Design to Code.

I transform webflow mockups, PSD (or indeed any design files such as XD / Sketch / Figma) into high-quality, living, breathing websites. This can be an event website, registration form, e-commerce portal, landing page and business or corporate website.
